What is Renuvion?

For the longest time, Botox, threads, lasers, and facelift surgeries were the methods used to eliminate signs of aging such as smile lines, sunspots, crows feet, and smoker lines. That has recently changed with the introduction of Revnuvion to the cosmetic world.

Revnuvion is the latest technology in non-surgical facial rejuvenation procedures. Developed in 2012, this new approach to facial rejuvenation yields results like no other method in the field and is quickly becoming known as the “reset button” for your skin.

Revnuvion is an energy device used to manipulate tissues without damaging them. Essentially it combines radio frequency energy to ionize helium gas, yielding a focused stream of low-current plasma. This plasma is extremely precise and uses energy to blend areas of the skin, making the skin look younger and evener. It can also be applied subdermally via small incisions.  When applied in this manner the ion gas firms up the skin, making it look instantly younger.

You may be an ideal candidate for Revnuvion if you are looking for a significant change. Revnuvion has been proven to improve wrinkles, fine lines, irregular pigmentation, melasma, acne scars, and sun or age spots. Any person looking to completely eliminate these issues would be an ideal candidate.

Although Revnuvion is not a surgical procedure, there are still some risks associated with the procedure. While the procedure uses local anesthesia to eliminate pain, some patients do report some discomfort during and after the procedure when the anesthesia wears off. As with any procedure, there are risks of nausea, swelling, redness, and infection.

Despite not being a surgical procedure, the recovery time for Revnuvion is a little longer than most non-surgical procedures. The length of your recovery time will depend on the type and extent of your procedure, however, most patients need at-home rest for ten days after the procedure. It is also recommended that you have someone stay with you to help you during your recovery time. During your recovery, your skin may be red, itchy, slightly swollen, and may crust or peel. Complete recovery takes approximately two to three weeks and you will have to avoid makeup and other skin care products during this timeframe.

Even though Revnuvion has an extended recovery time, the procedure only needs to be performed once and is immediately effective. Since it is non-surgical, it has fewer risks and leaves no scars. Furthermore, it yields dramatic results that rival any other non-surgical rejuvenation procedure.

Revnuvion, like many other cosmetic procedures, will most likely be considered an elective procedure by most insurance providers and, consequently, will not be covered. However, Revnuvion is usually cheaper than most facelift options and many plastic surgeons have financing options available.
